Ellanse or known as 少女针 in Mandarin have been making waves all around in China and Malaysia.
So what exactly is it and what makes it so attractive ? Here’s everything you need to know about this beauty treatment.
What is Ellanse?
Ellanse is actually a dermal filler made from 30% Polycaprolactone (PCL) and 70%Carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) gel. PCL is a biostimulator which is commonly used in regenerative medicines, implants, wound healing due to it’s collagen stimulating effect.
The Carboxymethlycellulose (CMC) gel works like other dermal fillers by immediately filling and replenish the volume loss and will be absorbed after a while.
What is Ellanse used for ?
- Skin laxity and sagginess
- Volume loss or hollowness
- Facial contouring or augmentation
- Acne scars
Is Ellanse safe?
Ellansé™ is totally biocompatible and biodegradable. It is injected into the skin via needle/ cannula.
When the CMC is absorbed, the PCL component will start stimulating collagen. After the PCL component has been absorbed, collagen stimulation will STILL take place, hence improving the skin texture over time.
How many types are there?
There are 4 types of Ellanse fillers; Ellanse S, M, L, and E. The differences between the 4 would be the longevity / reabsorption rate by the body.
How long is the downtime ?
Essentially, Ellanse is injected somewhat like hyaluronic acid fillers. There isn’t much of downtime but please be noted that some people may experience mild bruising or swelling as there is still a needle poking in. The effects such as bruising and swelling may subside within 24 hours to 72 hours.
